NLCC Welfare Policy.
No Limit Cycling Club prioritises the safety and well-being of adults with care and support needs, aged 18 and above. Our Safeguarding Adults Policy addresses the unique aspects of safeguarding adults and emphasises that abuse is related to circumstances rather than individual characteristics.
All individuals involved in cycling activities have a role in supporting and reporting adults at risk. We adhere to key principles, including the right to protection from abuse, inclusivity, and recognising changing vulnerability.
Our practices align with UK legislation, such as the Care Act 2014 and Mental Capacity Act 2005. We have procedures for reporting concerns, responding to disclosures, and identifying signs of abuse.
Safer recruitment, reference checks, and probationary periods are part of our good practice guidelines. No Limit Cycling Club respects confidentiality while prioritising the safety and welfare of adults at risk, in compliance with Local Safeguarding Adults Boards procedures.
